FASHIONThis project combined laser cutting, digital fabric printing, and 3D printing into one unique fashion piece. Using Rhino and Grasshopper to digitally create patterns using an image sampler, my partner and I made a hexagonal pattern that coordinates with our collage. The dress is made of white neoprene and crinkled chiffon. (2014)

BODY EXTENSIONSThis collection features pieces exaggerating parts of the body. Some exaggerate existing parts of the body, such as shoulders and fingers, but some focus on nonexistent parts such as horns and wings. Material use varies, but recycled materials play a huge role in most pieces like old aluminum cans, newspaper, and old cardboard boxes. (2012)

CERAMICSI've been working with clay since I was a young girl, as my aunt is a pottery teacher. These pieces include wheel thrown pots, sculptures, and coil pot construction. Glazing techniques include standard glaze and Raku firing.

DRAWING & PAINTINGMy drawing and painting experience includes many mediums, including oils, acrylics, watercolors, charcoal, pastel, pencil, and pen.

RECYCLED CANS AND BOTTLESYou can see from my body extension collections that I use many recycled materials. One of my favorite is aluminum soda cans, which I've manipulated into sculptures of flowers and wall hangings.
|
METALS AND JEWELRYBesides aluminum, I've worked with other metals such as sterling silver and copper. I have created jewelry and sculpture from sawing, forming and soldering metal sheets and incorporating found items, such as stones, glaze drippings, bottle caps, etc.
